Located in the heart of Santorini, Mythos Taverna is a new Greek restaurant inspired by Greek mythology. The restaurant serves traditional Greek food with a modern twist, targeting a younger crowd. To stand out in the competitive market, Mythos Taverna wanted a unique brand identity that appeals to modern diners while respecting tradition. They approached us to create a new brand identity merging traditional and modern styles.

Differentiation

Through a collaborative approach, we partnered with Mythos Taverna to merge traditional Greek elements with modern aesthetics. Our brand strategy focused on warmth, hospitality, and nature, reflecting the restaurant's essence. By using a modern Greek-style font and creating consistent brand icons for menus and digital platforms, we highlighted Mythos Taverna’s blend of tradition and innovation. This unified identity helps Mythos Taverna stand out in Santorini’s competitive restaurant market, appealing to younger patrons with its contemporary take on Greek dining.

The color palette for Mythos Taverna was carefully chosen to represent the restaurant's mix of tradition and modernity. It includes deep blue, earthy brown, warm beige, black, and light airy colors. These colors reflect the warmth, hospitality, and contemporary twist of the restaurant, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

The font "Augustus" was chosen in order to visualize this fusion between traditional and modern. It is not your typical modern font, neither a traditional greek font. It makes the brand stand out just by itself, even without the brand mark.

The supporting text fonts had to go well with the logo and keep up with the brand's simplicity. This ensures that the text would always be readable among different mediums. For this goal, I opted for "Mulish" family and "Augustus" as the combination for titles and body text respectively.

The assets for the brand are in the style of the logo. They use lines, are very simple, and illustrate the different types of food. They fit with Mythos Taverna's style, and help to further strengthen them and the supporting text.
